Created in Los Angeles in 2012, this work derives from a challenging yet significant period. I had lived in LA before, and the city still held an unsettled, agitated energy; as if in a state of constant movement and pressure.
During that time, I always felt on the edge of my seat - but the drawings that did emerge feel distinct. The lines are more searching, less immediate - shaped by my wariness rather than flow. This piece reflects my relationship with Los Angeles: complex, raw, and unapologetically honest.
Created using Mario Grigorov’s distinctive two-handed continuous line method, a rare and expressive approach in which both hands work simultaneously to produce a single, uninterrupted composition. This results in a free-flowing, organic style that cannot be replicated digitally or mechanically.
